Ephesians (Mentor Expository Commentary | MEC) is unavailable, but you can change that!

What makes Ephesians so beloved and valuable is not its genius or complexity but its clear and thorough teaching of the doctrines of salvation, of the church, and of the Christian life. Richard D. Phillips sets out in 65 wonderful expositions the beauty of Ephesians.

Third, in addition to the value Paul puts on prayer and the person to whom Paul prays, verse 14 shows the reverent attitude he has in prayer: ‘I bow my knees before the Father.’ Children rightly respect their fathers, and our access into God’s love does not change the reverence he is due. In most of the biblical examples of prayer the people are standing before the Lord (see Gen. 18:22; Mark 11:25; Luke 18:11, 13). But in times of great stress and need we often see God’s people praying on their knees.
